Files useful for area builders and coders

Mud Servers
Rom2.4 for DOS [version 1.0]. This is an executable of stock rom2.4 code which I've compiled for DOS. It includes color and OLC (on line creation). The current version is rather buggy. A known bug is that it will crash if you type skills or spells. It is useful for area editing of rom2.4 format areas. Instructions for use are found in the included readme.doc file.
Merc2.2 for DOS [version 2.2]. This is an executable of merc code for DOS. It's a little different than rom code. You may find it interesting. Instructions for running the mud are included.
Rom2.4 for DOS with OLC and mobprograms [version 1.0]. This is an executable of stock rom2.4 code which I've compiled for DOS. It includes color, OLC (on line creation), and mobprograms. Just ignore the stuff about Illuminati tribe - the original purpose was to code mobprograms for a tribe area, but this DOS compile works well for our builders to practice OLC and mobprograms.
Merc2.2 for DOS [version 2.2]. This is an executable of merc code for DOS. It's a little different than rom code. You may find it interesting. Instructions for running the mud are included.
Merc3.2 for Windows [version 3.2]. This is an executable of merc code for Windows, ported by Slash. It requires 32-bit windows (win95, NT or win32s). The executable runs on a command prompt in DOS, but uses a windows .dll to allow multi-user login to your socket. You'll need some merc areas to run it, which are included with the 2.2 version above, or you can download the areas separately here.
Rom2 code [versions 2.3-2.4beta]. ftp.game.org states that they have received permission from Russ Taylor to have the ROM distributions publically available from their site. The above link is to the directory which contains all the distributions. The official distribution site for rom2.3 is ftp://cie-2.uoregon.edu/pub, and the official site for 2.4 distribution is http://www.efn.org/~rtaylor/Rom24b4.tar.gz
EtD [version 1.0]. Here are the source files and area files for a rom2.4-based mud that I used to run called Escape to Desolation. You'll need to compile this code in a unix environment to run the mud. Note that the files are zipped, not gzipped. This mud is just a slightly hacked version of rom2.4 base code. It has Lope's color patch and 210 levels instead of 60. The races are also a little different.

Mud Clients
GMUD [version 1.9b]. For 32-bit windows (works with win32s and windows 3.1, or with windows 95). Genewic mud is a little simpler to use than ZMUD.
ZMUD [version 4.62-5.17]. This is a link to Zugg's homepage. The page has the latest versions available for download. Both windows 3.1 and windows 95 compliant versions are available.
Tintin++ [version 1.5-1.64]. Tintin is a mud client for unix. You may also download WinTin from this link (Tintin for windows).
Rapscallion [version 1.3b4]. For macintosh users. This is a link to the rapscallion home page.

Area file utilities
Mudmate [version 1.0]. An area file editor for rom2.4 areas. You may view additional information about mudmate here.
Make Zones Fast [version 97a]. An area file editor for rom2.4 areas under windows 95. If you need Envy 2.0 or windows 3.1 versions, look here.

Code Snippets
Ivan's OLC/Mobprogs patch for Rom2.4 [version ?]. This file includes Ivan's OLC patch, along with some mob program code supposedly designed to work with it. It is designed to allow editing of mobprogram code from within the OLC shell.
Mobprog patch for Rom2.4b2 [version ?]. This is a patch to install mobprogram code.
Lope's color patch [version 1.2]. Versions for Envy 2.0, Rom2.3, and Rom2.4 are included.
OLC patch for Rom24b4 [version 1.1]. A patch to install OLC into stock Rom2.4b4 code.
OLC for Rom2.3 [version 1.0]. OLC code for Rom2.3. This is not a patch. You must manually install the OLC code.
OLC alist command - modified [version n/a]. This is the standard olc alist command, modified slightly by me to sort your areas by vnum. I thought this would be useful for area builders looking for available vnums to use in creating new areas.
