Field Trip Opportunities

"Nothing beats an exciting hands-on experience to deepen learning. The magic of a field trip isn't just the subject. It's the break in routine and adventure that opens up children's minds to new things" - Anonymous

The flexibility of student schedules in the Personalized Learning Model at Dimensions allows for an emphasis on experiential learning. In fact, DCS encourages you to tap into the wide range of field trip opportunities available to you in this diverse community. We believe that field trips are valuable learning experiences that can:

  • Expose students to new experiences and can increase interest and engagement in science regardless of prior interest in a topic. 1
  • Result in affective gains such as more positive feelings toward a topic. 2
  • Are experiences that can be recalled and useful long after a visit. 3
